The City of Saskatoon is committed to creating an Accessibility Plan that reflects the needs and experiences of all residents. Through a structured consultation process, we aim to gather valuable insights from the community to guide our efforts in building a barrier free city. Please fill out the survey below that best meets your needs!

The City of Saskatoon is committed to building a barrier-free city that supports inclusion and accessibility for all residents. We are launching a comprehensive survey to understand and address accessibility barriers within our community. Your participation is crucial in helping us create a more inclusive and accessible city for everyone. 

Who Should Participate? 

We invite all community members who experience accessibility barriers to participate in this survey. This includes: 

• Individuals with disabilities 
• Older or aging adults 
• Caregivers and care providers 
• Service providers 
• Allies and supporters 

Your unique perspectives and experiences are invaluable in shaping our accessibility initiatives. 

Survey Details 

To ensure that everyone can participate, we have developed multiple versions of the survey to accommodate diverse needs: 

• Long Form: Guides participants through the 7 domains found in the Accessible Saskatchewan Act. Participants can choose which domains they experience barriers in and provide their own voice and/or answer a few multiple-choice questions. This survey can take between 10 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the amount of feedback a person chooses to provide. 
• Short Forms: Two versions are available for participants with less time or cognitive capacity, including a screen reader-capable version created with the City’s website. The expected time to complete is about 10 minutes. 
• Assistive Support Options: Printed copies, stop-and-go survey (requires an email), phone-assisted survey (using the short form), and translated survey via Google Translate (requires an email). All of these options are available upon request. 

We have made significant efforts to ensure that no accessibility barriers exist in our survey about accessibility barriers in the City. 

Why Participate? 

By participating in this survey, you are contributing to a more inclusive and accessible Saskatoon. Your feedback will help us: 

• Identify and remove existing accessibility barriers 
• Improve accessibility in various areas, including the built environment, information and communications, employment, transportation, service animals, procurement, and service delivery 
• Create a city where everyone can live, work, and thrive without facing accessibility challenges 

Your input will directly influence the development of our Accessibility Plan, which aims to enhance the quality of life for all residents. 

How to Participate 

The survey will be available to the public starting February 27th. You can access the survey online or request alternative formats to suit your needs. We encourage you to share this information with your networks and support others in participating.
