Be Water Wise: Save money and protect the environment with indoor and outdoor water conservation.
Energy Assistance Program: Income-qualified households can save up to $230 a year on their utility bills through this SaskPower program, also open to Saskatoon Light & Power customers.
Home Energy Loan Program (HELP): A low-interest loan program that can help cover the upgrade costs for energy efficiency, renewable energy, or reduced water use.

Land (Yards & Gardens)
Free Elm Wood Disposal for 2024 residents can drop off loads of elm wood under 1000kg for free at the City’s landfill.
Healthy Yards: Get Saskatoon-specific resources for environmentally friendly gardening or join local learning events run by community partners.
Protect our Elm: One in four of Saskatoon’s trees are elm. Learn what elm look like, how to care for elm, and report dead or dying elm trees or branches to the City.
Public Space Gardening: Opportunities to garden in public spaces include allotment gardens, community gardens, boulevard gardens, and vacant lot gardens.
Rain Barrel Rebate: Apply for a rebate on the purchase of a rain barrel. Saskatoon households are eligible for one rebate per item per year.
Request a Tree: Homeowners and businesses can request the City plant a tree free of charge in the boulevard(s) adjacent to their property.

Residential Drop-Off Options
- Recycling Depots for excess or oversized materials that don’t fit in your blue cart or bin.
- Compost Depot for yard and garden waste
- Material Recovery Centre Drop & Go for recycling, small appliances, batteries, oil and anti-freeze, electronics, metals, rimless tires, bicycles, and appliances, with a $20 fee for appliances with refrigerant.
- Material Recovery Centre Scale & Pay for non-recyclable waste including garbage, concrete and brick (reduced rate), and elm wood (residential loads under 1000kg free)
- Household Glass is accepted at all Saskatoon SARCAN locations
