Emergency Management
Saskatoon's Emergency Management Organization (EMO) works with emergency response agencies, critical infrastructure partners and residents to ensure Saskatoon is a resilient community. Resilient communities have the capacity to recover from large impact emergency events.
You’ll be better prepared to face a range of emergencies – anytime, anywhere when you:
- Make a plan. When emergencies happen, having a plan in place is the best way to respond quickly and protect your family, pets and your property. Write a plan, or create one using the online Emergency Plan Form. Learn more about Emergency Preparedness.
- Prepare an Emergency Kit. In an emergency, you will need basic supplies. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. Need ideas? Learn what’s in a basic emergency kit.
- Listen. Watch or follow local media for updates.
- Sign up for notifynow. Specify your contact preferences (text, cellphone, landline or email) and be notified in the event of an emergency. Consider signing up your family members too, so notifynow can also reach them. Sign up at saskatoon.ca/notifynow.
