EAL Recycling and Composting Workshops
The Newcomer Recycling and Composting workshops are designed to educate newcomers and English as an Additional Language residents (EAL) on household recycling and waste management. Designed for Grades 6 and up. Call 306-931-3242 for more information.
Environmental Grant
Apply for the Environmental Grant to fund your school’s sustainability project. Schools must provide a non-profit number for the application.

Student Action for a Sustainable Future (SASF)
Grades 5-8 classrooms can participate in an environmental action and inquiry project connected to curriculum outcomes. Students will develop, implement, and showcase inquiry and actions, which focus on six areas: waste, water, energy, food, transportation, and biodiversity, that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Saskatoon and around Saskatchewan. Connect your curriculum outcomes to important sustainability goals while providing project-based work, in class or online.
Yellow Fish Road & Sanitary Sewer Program
The Yellow Fish Road™ program educates youth from Grades 5-8 on the impact of pollution in storm drains and how to protect our local water sources. Students also look at the City’s sewer system and learn what shouldn’t go down the drain.

Cosmo’s Recycling Education Centre offers free educational sessions and encourages visitors to view recycling in context of the community.
Tour: Loraas Education Room
Visit Loraas Recycle’s state-of-the-art classroom for information on recycling, waste, and composting topics.
Tour: Saskatoon Light & Power
The tour features presentations on electricity generation, interactive demonstrations of electrical metering, linemen’s tools and pole climbing and electrical safety. Students will learn what electricity is, how to be safe around it, and how our electrical system can be smart and sustainable. The tour can be tailored for students Grade 4 and up.
