What is SmartUTIL? 

SmartUtil is an easy-to-use online tool that helps our residential and commercial utility customers to:

  • Keep on budget—set spending alerts for water and electricity usage at your property and be notified if you’re about to exceed the dollar amount you’ve specified.  
  • Monitor water and electricity consumption—get real-time water and electricity consumption amounts for your property by month, day, or hour.
  • Use the data to make informed decisions—SmartUTIL can help you know how much electricity your space heater uses, detect water leaks, or notice habits like running the tap while you brush your teeth. Fixing leaks and changing consumption behaviours can lower utility bills and save you money! 

Access SmartUTIL using "My Utility Account"

"My Utility Account" shows your utility payments/credits, account summary, consumption summary and Equalized Payment Plan (EPP) if you’re on EPP. It's also where you can access SmartUTIL.

If you have already set up "My Utility Account": access SmartUTIL directly from the My Utility Account page (saskatoon.ca/UtilityAccount). Click the "My SmartUTIL" button to get started. 

If you are setting up "My Utility Account" for the first time:  Go to the My Utility Account page (saskatoon.ca/UtilityAccount) and enter your utility statement account number and the amount of your last billing.

A note on electricity consumption data

Only Saskatoon Light & Power customers can use SmartUTIL to view their electricity data. SaskPower customers are encouraged to use the SaskPower app.
