Business Licence Online
Commercial or home-based businesses can apply for or renew their business licence online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This online service is intended for businesses operating in Saskatoon that have a permanent Saskatoon business location. Non-resident (or out-of-town) businesses must apply or renew with Corporate Revenue.
With Business Licence Online you can:
- Apply and pay for a new business licence
- Renew and pay for an existing business licence
- Check business licence application status
- Notify our office of a change in location to an existing business
The forms of payment accepted include: MasterCard, MasterCard Debit, Visa, Visa Debit, and American Express. Due to enhanced security measures being taken by our payment service provider, the City can no longer accept online payment from debit cards that don't have a Visa or Mastercard logo on the front.
A secure and reasonably up to date internet browser and device are required for online transactions. Online transactions are not supported using any device or operating system older than Windows 7, Mac OS 10, Android 5, iPhone 5. Compatible web browsers include Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari. If your device and operating system meet the requirements, but you are experiencing issues, please try updating your web browser.
Business licences are processed in the order they are received and will take approximately 2-3 weeks to issue. Once approved, your business licence will be mailed to you. If you are renewing your business licence, you will need the Business Licence Account Number, Business ID and Web Code in order to log into your online renewal account. This information is provided on your renewal notice.
To use the Business Licence Online service, you need to have a public website account on Saskatoon.ca. If you have a website account (e.g. you pay your City of Saskatoon utility bill online), you will not be required to register again. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one by clicking the link below. Please note, you will be redirected to Moneris to complete the online payment process.
NOTE: If you do not have a renewal form or currently hold a business licence, but request to update a business name or change of ownership details, call or email the Business Licence Program first.

I registered a long time ago and I have forgotten my username and password. What can I do?
You can reset your password by correctly answering the security question connected with your account. A temporary password will be sent to the email address registered with your account. Check the email and follow the instructions to log into your Identity Services account. The email also provides instructions on how to change your password (passwords are case sensitive).
Can I check the status of my application or renewal online?
Yes. To check the status of your online application or renewal, log into the Business Licence Online portal by clicking the "Renew or Apply Online" link above. Next, access your account by logging in with your username and password. Once you are successfully logged into our account, click on "My Activity" at the top of the screen. All active business licence accounts will be shown along with their current status.
What if I have more than one business or more than one location?
If you own more than one business, a separate licence is required for each type of business and each location. You will need to complete a separate business licence online application for each location. A business licence is only valid for the address that is shown on the licence.
Is my credit card and personal information protected?
Yes. The City of Saskatoon takes measures to protect your information by using secure servers hosted by our payment provider. Your credit card information is processed securely in real time using the latest available encryption technology and is compliant under Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI). Verify that a lock icon is on your browser status bar when submitting payment information to identify the form is secure.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. A successful credit card transaction will generate an electronic receipt sent to your email address. If you did not receive an email receipt, contact business licencing staff at 306-975-2760 or business.license@saskatoon.ca for assistance. Please take note of the date and time you submitted your online application for reference.
I paid more than once. What do I do?
