About the Sponsorship Program

Supporting Saskatoon’s Vibrant Communities

The City of Saskatoon is committed to fostering a city where diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of community life. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee (DEIAC) invites applications for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Sponsorship Program, designed to support initiatives that promote these values within our community.

Program Goals

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusions Sponsorship Program aims to:

  • Enhance Community Engagement: Support events, programs, and projects that bring people together across cultural, social, and economic lines.
  • Promote Inclusion: Encourage initiatives that break down barriers and create opportunities for all Saskatoon residents.
  • Celebrate Diversity: Amplify the voices and contributions of underrepresented communities through public events, education, and outreach.

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to:

  • Community Groups: Informal or grassroots groups that are committed to making Saskatoon a more inclusive place for all. (Example: University, school, or community group)
  • Registered Non-Profit Organizations: Saskatoon-based non-profits with a focus on community-building, cultural engagement, or social justice.

Details

  • The event must be free and open and available for all members of the public.
  • The maximum amount applicants can apply for is $2,000.00 and all eligible expenditures must be directly related to the event being sponsored.
  • Ineligible expenses include: cash prizes, administrative/overhead expenses, third party funding, fundraising, and alcohol.
  • Funding is paid out after the event or project once the final report is submitted.

How to Apply

Applying is simple and accessible. Interested groups must complete a brief application form, providing details about the project or event they wish to have sponsored. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, with funding available to support a variety of initiatives throughout the year.

Application deadlines for Sponsorship Applications are:

  1. April 1st (for projects taking place from April to September)
  2. October 1st (for projects taking place from October to March and December)

Reporting Requirements

To ensure accountability and transparency, successful applicants are required to submit a follow-up report form after the completion of the sponsored initiative.

This report should include a summary of the event or project, an assessment of its impact, and a financial statement outlining how the sponsorship funds were utilized.
