Extreme cold temperatures, during which de-icing materials are less effective and ice builds up on streets, especially bridge desks, overpasses and at high-traffic intersections.

Extreme cold temperatures, during which de-icing materials are less effective and ice builds up on streets, especially bridge desks, overpasses and at high-traffic intersections.
Snow Accumulation: 8cm
Current Road Conditions
- Icy bridge decks, ramps and intersections
- Slippery streets, sidewalks and pathways
- Some slippery sections on priority streets
- Snow covered streets
Current Winter Road Activities
- Plowing Circle Drive and other expressways;
- Grading snow from Priority 1 streets, including Saskatoon’s busiest streets and access routes to emergency facilities such as Circle Drive, Idylwyld Drive, 22nd Street, College Drive and 8th Street.
- Crews are monitoring streets for icy conditions 24 hours a day and applying pre-wet salt/sand combination (used to soften ice and improve traction in more severe cold temperatures).
- Grading snow from protected bike lanes.
- Clearing snow from sidewalks adjacent to City facilities, multi-use pathways and cycle tracks
