HAZMAT Team found large commercial Post Office, reports of a suspicious package

Action(s) Taken:

HAZMAT crew wearing appropriate PPE entered structure to identify product found with suspicious package. Product was tested and was found not to be a hazard. HAZMAT crews isolated product and suspicious package and removed from the building. Package was removed from product and placed in an evidence collection bag. Package was turned over to the SPS. Building was restored to normal function.

  • A search confirmed all occupants safely evacuated.
  • There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
  • The scene was turned over to Police for further investigation.
