Dog Day of Summer

Thank you to all the pups that came out to dive into Dog Day of Summer. Congratulations to Fudge the winner of the Saskatoon Water Paws Gift Card!

Thank you to everyone who supported the Saskatoon SPCA BBQ. The event raised $1,300 for the SPCA.

The Dog Day of Summer event is planned following the closure of Mayfair Outdoor Pool for the season. No human swimming will be permitted. Participation in this event is at you and your dog’s own risk.

Registration

Attendance is by online pre-registration only and a limit of 60 dogs per session. All dogs must be accompanied by an adult owner, well-socialized, vaccinated and licensed in Saskatoon. Pet licenses must be purchased prior to registering for the event.

To help with a smooth registration please ensure you have your dogs' pet license purchased or renewed in advance of the registration date. Licenses that expire prior to the event will need to be renewed before registering for the event. 

Session Times

There will be dedicated swim times for service dogs, therapy dogs and small dogs. To participate in the small dogs swim sessions, dogs must be under 40 cm (16”) at the shoulder and less than 9 kg (20 lbs). 

Service & Therapy Dogs 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.
Small Dogs Only 11:00 a.m. to 11:55 a.m.
All Dogs 12:00 p.m. to 12:55 p.m.
  1:00 p.m. to 1:55 p.m.
  2:00 p.m.  to 2:55 p.m.
  3:00 p.m. to 3:55 p.m.
  4:00 p.m. to 4:55 p.m.
  5:00 p.m. to 5:55 p.m.
  6:00 p.m. to 6:55 p.m.
Small Dogs Only 7:00 p.m. to 7:55 p.m.

Know before you go

  • Mayfair Outdoor Pool features a zero-entry pool so pups can easily access the water

  • You can arrive anytime during your scheduled session time

  • Owners are encouraged to trim their dog's nails prior to attending the event

  • All dogs must be accompanied by an adult owner, well-socialized, vaccinated and licensed in Saskatoon to participate

  • Human swimming will not be permitted

  • Bring your appetite, Saskatoon SPCA will be hosting a fundraiser BBQ throughout the day.
