Diet: Majority of their diet consists of rodents.
Height: Males are between 45 to 60 cm and females are between 48 to 65 cm.
Weight: Males weigh between 690 to 1300 grams and females weigh between 801 to 1,723 grams.

- Red-tailed hawks can live up to 20 years in the wild and up to 27 years in a zoo environment.
- Red-tailed hawks have sharp eyesight, they can see up to eight times better than humans.
- Juveniles don't get the red tail feathers until the start of their second year, instead sporting brown barred tails.
About Us
The Saskatoon Zoo is home to two red-tailed hawks. Reggie was injured in the wild and found his forever home at the Saskatoon Zoo. Reggie has been paired with a female red-tailed hawk and the pair are located in the Raptor Roost next to the Nutrien Ark.
