Fun Facts
- They can leap up to 4 m (13 ft) horizontally.
- The Goeldi's monkey is native to areas of the Amazon rainforest across southern Colombia, eastern Ecuador and Peru, western Brazil and northern Bolivia.
- Goeldi's monkeys were named after the Swiss naturalist Emil August Goeldi who discovered them in the early 1900s.
- Infant monkeys are carried exclusively by the mother for up to 20 days. Afterwards, the male and other siblings will share carrying duties until the infant is weaned at 12 weeks.
