Waste Utility Subsidy
The Waste Utility Subsidy is a three-year program aimed at providing a rebate to eligible low-income households on the cost of their utilities. Eligible low-income households may apply for the subsidy once a year until 2026. A one-time $100 credit will be issued to the utility account of approved applicants for the year of application. Households will need to re-apply every year to receive the subsidy.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for the Waste Utility Subsidy, you must be a City of Saskatoon resident and utility account holder receiving curbside waste services (black, blue and green carts). Additionally, your household income must fall below the applicable Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) amount, listed below.

How to Apply

Fill out the online application below.

You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been submitted.
- Attach copies of your last year's Notice of Assessment(s) from Canada Revenue Agency and a copy of a utility bill.
- If you don't have access to a computer please use the Printable Version or pick up a paper copy at any City Hall or any of the indoor leisure centres.
Note There is no application deadline. Applicants will be notified by email regarding the status of their application within three to six weeks of applying.
