Commuter caution: overnight snow may affect morning driving conditions
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for snow and a risk of freezing rain in Saskatoon starting tonight. Morning commuters may want to leave early and use caution, as roads are expected to be icy for the first time in many months.
City crews will be applying salt at slippery locations through the night beginning with our highest traffic streets, bridges and intersections. If the winter storm brings more than 5 cm of snowfall, all priority streets will be graded. Please watch for their blue and amber flashing lights and leave room for road equipment to do their work.
When safe to do so, please report icy road conditions to the 24-hour Customer Care Centre at 306-975-2476. Learn about winter road maintenance at saskatoon.ca/snow.
