Bike box installed on Wiggins Avenue at College Drive
The City of Saskatoon has installed a new bike box on Wiggins Avenue at the intersection of College Drive and a painted bike lane for Wiggins Avenue northbound between Elliot Street and College Drive as part of an ongoing commitment to improving road safety for all users.
The bike box is intended to provide greater visibility and reduce conflict points between vehicles and cyclists. A bike box is designed to provide cyclists with a designated space at the front of the traffic queue. A "no right turn on red" restriction for northbound drivers making a right turn onto College Drive has also been installed.
A reduced speed limit of 30 km/h on Wiggins Avenue from 50 metres south of Elliot Street to College Drive will take effect on September 30, 2024. New speed limit signage has been installed to inform drivers of the speed limit changes for this block.
