Rut Shaving - February 2022
Rut Shaving on skipped streets and back lanes completed
City and contractor crews have completed rut shaving on residential streets that were skipped, due to heavy on-street parking, when neighbourhoods were initially graded. Rut shaving in back lanes in all residential and industrial areas has also been completed.
- The snow piles will stay in the parking lane on residential streets. City and contractor crews have resumed snow removal which will be completed on major streets only.
- Due to the narrow nature of back lanes and no extra space to put the snow, there may be a snow ridge left behind along the edges of the lanes. If a driveway is blocked and you can’t clear it yourself or drive over it, please email customercare@saskatoon.ca or call our Customer Care Centre at 306-975-2476 to report your location. Trouble spots in back lanes will be inspected within 2 days and only repaired within another 2 days if the ridge is higher than 30 cm (12 inches).
- Night time snow removal on priority streets resumed February 15. This work continues each night with "No Parking" signs posted so equipment can haul out snow.
