Industrial fire in Corman Park

The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 3:06 pm, Sunday December 20, 2020 reporting black smoke coming from a building on Peters Avenue in the North Corman Industrial Park. Dispatched to the scene were 2 engines, a brush truck, a tanker a rescue and the battalion chief.
The first arriving apparatus observed lots of smoke but no visible flames. The incident commander assigned an attack crew to enter the building and seek out the source of fire. This initial entry was made and then recalled upon encountering acetylene and oxygen. An alternative entry point was made and crews were able to get water onto the fire creating steam that obscured visibility. Once the fire growth was under control. a large overhead door was opened to provide ventilation and improve visibility.
An additional 2 engines, a tanker and a tanker form Warman Fire department were brought in to provide relief for working firefighters and additional water supply. Fire crews managed to connect a winch to a semi and pull it out of the building, while suppression flare ups on a semi trailer.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished with the last truck leaving the scene at 5:47 pm. There in no damage estimate or cause to the fire as the Saskatoon Fire Department does not investigate fires outside of Saskatoon.
House fire in Buena Vista

The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 6:54 pm on December 12, 2020 report a fire in a house in the 100 block of 8th Street East. Dispatched to the scene were three engines, one ladder, one rescue, the battalion chief and fire investigator.
The first crews arrived in less that four minute and observed smoke coming from a second-floor window of a three storey house. The first firefighters to enter the building searched for occupants and discovered the fire in a second-floor bedroom.
It was confirmed the occupants exited the home after being alerted by the smoke alarm. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters.
It took firefighters until 7:27 pm to bring the fire under control that resulted in extensive damage throughout the second and third floors. The last firefighters left the scene at 10:47 pm after confirming the fire was entirely extinguished.
The cause remains under investigation with damages estimated at $150,000.00.
Update - Mobile home fire in Sutherland

The on-scene examination into the cause of this fire has concluded. Due to the significant damage to the structure the cause remains undetermined.
No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Damage is estimated at $75,000.00.

The Saskatoon Fire Department is on scene at a fire in a mobile home after receiving a 911 call at 5:58 pm reporting flames coming from a home in the 1500 block of Rayner Avenue. Dispatched to the scene were 3 engines, a ladder, a rescue, a battalion chief and a fire investigator.
First arriving fire officers indicated the home was fully involved in fire when on scene. Reports from firefighters indicate the floor has burned through and crews are taking defensive actions to protect adjacent structures while applying water to the interior.
It is unknown currently if there was anyone home at the time if the fire.
Fire crews remain on scene and a fire investigator will conduct an internal examination once safe to continue.

Mobile home fire in Sutherland

The Saskatoon Fire Department is on scene at a fire in a mobile home after receiving a 911 call at 5:58 pm reporting flames coming from a home in the 1500 block of Rayner Avenue. Dispatched to the scene were 3 engines, a ladder, a rescue, a battalion chief and a fire investigator.
First arriving fire officers indicated the home was fully involved in fire when on scene. Reports from firefighters indicate the floor has burned through and crews are taking defensive actions to protect adjacent structures while applying water to the interior.
It is unknown currently if there was anyone home at the time if the fire.
Fire crews remain on scene and a fire investigator will conduct an internal examination once safe to continue.

Multi-vehicle collision at Circle Drive and Airport Drive

Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 1024 hours on November 26, 2020 reporting a multi-vehicle collision on the vicinity of Circle Drive and Airport Drive. Dispatched to the scene were 3 engines, a rescue and a battalion chief. On arrival the first engine reported three vehicles involved; a truck, a car, and a van which was on its side.
All occupants were already out of their vehicles and were assessed for injuries by firefighter/paramedics. Fortunately there were no injuries. Fire crews remained on scene to ensure no fire occurred while vehicles were towed away and assisted with cleaning up debris and spilled fluids.
