Two vehicle MVC at Avenue C and Circle Drive

Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision at 16:20 this afternoon. Dispatch sent two Engines, one Heavy Rescue Unit, and one Battalion Chief to Avenue C and Circle Drive.
On arrival, Fire crews verified two vehicles involved. One was a small car and the other a passenger van. The occupant of the car had exited the vehicle before arrival of the Fire Department crews. The van was on its side with the single occupant still inside. It was being supported by multiple bystanders to prevent it from rolling further onto its roof.
Fire crews quickly stabilized the van to ensure safety while the Fire paramedics entered the interior to access and stabilize the occupant. All bystanders were moved away to a safe area. The van roof was cut and flapped down to enable extrication of the patient. She was then passed over to the ambulance service and transported to Royal University Hospital with undetermined injuries. The driver of the car had no reported injuries.
Police remain on scene at this time. Traffic flow will be temporarily affected until the intersection is cleared.

2 Vehicle Collision Requires Rescue on Kensington Blvd.
At 12:40 This afternoon The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a collision between a Truck and a Mini van on Kensington Blvd.
An Engine a Rescue Truck and a Battalion Chief were dispatched and responded to the scene.
First crews arrived on scene and found a collision had occurred between a truck and a Mini van resulting in a rollover leaving the van on its side. Crews made contact with the occupants of the Mini van and stabilized the vehicle. Once the van was safely stabilized Fire Department Paramedics were able to access and provide initial care for the occupants. Hydraulic Rescue tools were used to remove the windshield and the roof to free two trapped elderly occupants one male and one female who were transported to hospital for further evaluation.
Once the rescue was complete the scene was left in the care of Saskatoon City Police.

At approximately 11:42 pm tonight, Saskatoon Fire Department received multiple 911 calls of a fire in the area of 20th street and ave H south. Three engines, one ladder truck, one rescue truck and a battalion chief were dispatched. On arrival, fire crews found a garage with heavy smoke and flames at the rear of 326 ave H south. Fire crews began an immediate attack and were quickly able to bring the fire under control.
There were no injures as a result of the fire.
An fire investigator was call to the scene and the fire is currently under investigation. There is no damage estimate at this time

Exterior Fire At Elementary School Daycare

Just after 2:00 pm this afternoon Saskatoon Fire Department received 911 calls about an exterior fire at St. Frances elementary school daycare , 202 Willow street east. Three Fire engines one Aerial ladder truck one heavy rescue truck one battalion Chief and one Fire Investigator unit were dispatched to this incident.
The first arriving trucks found a fence and the corner of the daycare building on fire. The fire was quickly brought under control and with a key holder arriving the interior of the structure was checked for fire extension. Crews found that the fire had got into the exterior of the walls and they had to extinguish hot spots both from inside the building and the outside as well.
There were on injuries as a result of this incident. A Fire Investigator is now on scene working to determine a cause of the fire and a damage estimate.
