UPDATE: Water Rescue - Ongoing - Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge & Victoria Bridge
At approximately 3:00 this afternoon, water rescue crews conducting sonar scans of the water identified an abnormality below the surface near the Victoria Bridge.
One water rescue diver entered the water at this location. The abnormality was confirmed to be one non-viable patient. A second water rescue diver entered the water to assist with recovery efforts.
The Saskatoon Fire Department has now concluded its involvement and this incident has been turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service.

At approximately 1:45, the Saskatoon Fire Department was alerted to reports of a person in the water in the area between the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge and the Victoria Bridge.
Two Water Rescue Units, one Fire Engine, and one Battalion Chief were immediately dispatched for response.
Water rescue crews with the Saskatoon Fire Department are using sonar technology to identify any abnormalities in the water that should otherwise not be present. Water rescue divers are currently in the water; however, their search has remained inconclusive.
This incident is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes known.
