The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 2:45 pm on Sunday afternoon reporting an attached garage fire. Dispatched to the scene were 3 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Rescue and a Battalion Chief. The first arriving fire officer observed fire between two homes and smoke venting to the eaves of each; while directing fire crews to attack the fire, the call for a Fire Investigator was also made. The fire was quickly knocked down however the extension of fire into the attic proved to be a challenge. A second alarm was called to bring additional resources to the scene to assist with extinguishment.
Fire crews remain on scene as does the fire investigator.
Cause of the fire and damage estimate are not available at this time.
