Early Morning Fire Damages Homes
At approximately 4:45 A.M. on Friday April 12, 2019, the Saskatoon Fire Department received one 911 call reporting a house fire at 534 Wollaston Terrace. Three engines, one aerial and one heavy rescue responded to the call and found a home and attached garage fully involved with fire.
Crews quickly began a transitional attack and were notified the home had been evacuated. The lone occupant was notified of the fire by a neighbor banging on the door of his home. Fire crews had the fire under control within twenty minutes. Crews proceeded into the home to complete their search and extinguish any remaining fire. Heat from the fire also caused damages to the neighboring home by melting the exterior siding. Saskatoon Fire crews had the fire out within 1 hour.
A Fire Investigator was called and is currently on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and damage estimates have not been determined.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
