The purpose of the bylaw includes: (a) to establish the Fire and Protective Services Department; (b) to adopt a fire prevention code which establishes a satisfactory standard for fire prevention, fire fighting and life safety in buildings; (c) to provide for the prevention and suppression of fires and other fire prevention, fire safety and any services at the site of an emergency.
