Project Status:
The project is currently under construction and renovation. The General Contractor, Hipperson Construction, is progressing according to the contract's scope of work and the proposed construction schedule. The current construction progress is 22.5 % and the project remains on track for the planned substantial completion date. The City has scheduled a full reopening of the renovated facility for late Spring 2026.
Current Progress:
The contractor continues to make steady progress on the renovation scope:
- Basement/Service Areas Plumbing and Piping Work: Ongoing plumbing demo and installation, preparation for underground piping work, and for new electro-mechanical equipment.
- Structural and 50-meter Pool Work: Ongoing shoring and forming of concrete beams, preparation of pool walls and basin, execution of light penetration infill, removal of scaffolding, and installation of skimmers and concrete fills.
- Change Room and Admin Area Roof and Wall Installations: Ongoing stripping of the existing flat roof, installation of new structural elements and metal decking, installation of west wall cladding, completion of rough-ins for plumbing and electrical systems, and finishing of new wall layout.

Upgrade & Facility Closure Project
Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre was built in 1975 and many of the components are nearing the end of their functional life.
The project is anticipated to include the following upgrades to the facility:
- Accessibility and inclusivity improvements to ensure the building and its features will be a welcoming space for the entire community.
- Upgrades to the 50-metre pool basin.
- Change room and washroom renovations to better serve customers and families.
- Water treatment and building mechanical system upgrades for improved efficiency.
- Flat roof upgrades including vapor barrier and insulation to increase energy efficiency and air quality.

Programming
The same programs and services will continue to be available at the other 5 Leisure Centres (Cosmo, Lakewood and Lawson Civic Centres, Saskatoon Field House and Shaw Centre) and where possible, programming opportunities have been expanded at the facilities.
