What Are We Asking?
The South Saskatchewan River (river) is an important attraction and main focal point of Saskatoon. It is a fundamental part of our story, both traditional and historic, and remains a key destination for those who visit or live in Saskatoon.
From June to August 2024, the City is engaging the community on how you currently access and use the river, as well as what you would like us to consider to encourage the safe use of the river for years to come. Your feedback, along with best practises from other cities and internal considerations, will help in developing a decision-making framework for how the City provides future facilities, amenities and programs related to river access, use and safety.
How Can You Get Involved?
You are invited to provide your feedback through numerous engagement activities, including online community surveys and pop-up events around the river. Please visit this page for future engagement opportunities or use the following methods to reach out to the project team:
Pop-Up Events
Our lead consultant, Scatliff + Miller + Murray, will be setting up a booth at various river access sites across Saskatoon. Come and provide us with your feedback at one of the following dates/locations:
- Wednesday, June 26 - River Landing Promenade (weather permitting)
- Saturday, July 6 - River Landing Promenade (weather permitting)
- Other Dates - TBD
