Structure Fire - 200 block of Avenue L South

At approximately 11:31 p.m. on May 29, 2020, the Saskatoon Fire Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a possible garage on fire in the 200 block of Avenue L South. Three fire engines, one rescue unit, one aerial ladder truck, one fire investigation unit, and one battalion chief were dispatched for response.

The first responding fire engine arrived on scene in less than four minutes to find a fully involved residential garage; firefighters immediately extended hose lines to protect a nearby exposure and initiate extinguishment of the fire. Flames were brought under control in less than 15 minutes from the time of fire dispatchers first receiving notification of the incident. There were no injuries as a result of this fire.

A fire investigator has concluded on scene, identifying the fire to be incendiary with damage estimated at approximately $8,000.
