House fire in Mayfair

The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 4:35 am from the occupant of a house on the 1200 block Avenue D North reporting a fire.  The caller stated several pets remained in the house and were directed not to re-enter the building.  Dispatched to the seen are three engines, one rescue, one ladder, a battalion chief and a fire investigator.

First arriving firefighters found the occupants outside and observed flames through a front window on the front of the house.  One crew was assigned to begin fighting the fire through this front window while a second made entry to search the house for occupants and pets and attack the fire. 

Once the fire was brought under control, an additional engine was dispatched to relieve working firefighters.  All staff who were originally dispatched to this fire were returned to their stations while this single engine and fire investigator remain on scene.
