Early Morning Fire in a Large Commercial Storage Building at Prairieland Park
The Saskatoon fire Department received a 911 call reporting a fire in a large commercial storage building at approximately 01:07 this morning. Three Fire Engines, one Ladder Company, one Rescue Unit, a Battalion Chief and a Fire Investigator were dispatched to the incident.
Upon arrival, black smoke was seen coming from the building. Fire crews forced open a side door to make entry into the structure and initiated an offensive fire attack. Fire fighters encountered heavy black smoke and heat as they entered the building. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished. Fire crews remained on scene to clear the structure of smoke. There were no occupants in the building at the time of the fire.
A Fire Investigator is currently on scene working to determine a cause and a damage estimate.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
