Early morning apartment fire
At Approximately 3:00 A.M. The Saskatoon Fire Department received two 911 calls reporting a possible fire in an occupied apartment building on Ave V N. Three engines, one ladder, one rescue and a battalion chief were dispatched to the call. When crews arrived they found smoke exiting the third floor of the apartment, they were notified the occupants of that suite were outside. Crews brought in hose lines and advanced to the third floor where they were able to quickly find the fire and extinguish it. Search for other victims continued while ventilation to remove the smoke began. The mother living in the suite stated she woke up to the alarms and went to wake her son up realizing the apartment was full of black smoke.
A fire investigator was called to the scene, a cause or damage estimate has not been determined at this time.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
