Election 2016 - General Information
Election Day for the 2016 municipal and School Board elections was Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
Detailed information about the election will continue to be available on this site for the next few weeks, including the various documents and forms that were available for download during the election period.
Nomination of Candidates
Hiring of Election Workers
As of September 14, 2016, applications are NO LONGER being accepted for election workers for the fall election.
Municipal Ward Boundary Changes
Saskatoon is growing and as a result, municipal ward boundaries changed with the Municipal/School Board elections held on October 26, 2016. Ward maps have been posted in the Voters Information page on the Elections website.

Important Dates and Deadlines
- July 4 - Mail-in voting applications available
- Sept 6 - Nominations open at 8:00 am
- Sept 21 - Nominations close at 4:00 pm
- Sept 22 - Final date for withdrawal of candidates, at 4:00 pm
- Oct. 14 - Deadline for application for homebound voting, at 5:00 p.m.
- Oct 15-22 - Advance polls
- Oct 21, 24, 26 - Homebound voting
- Oct 25 - Last day to pick up mail-in ballot applications, at 5:00 p.m.
- Oct 26 - Election Day, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm; deadline date for receipt of mail-in ballots
- Oct 31 - New Council sworn in
- Nov 2 - All election signs and posters to be removed
