Peggy Schmeiser

Peggy’s commitments reflect long-term vision and a focus on fundamentals. Priorities include accountable and transparent finances and decision-making to better address public safety, homelessness and housing, infrastructure and services, sustainable growth, leisure and heritage. She prioritizes collaboration among government, industry, non-profit and post-secondary sectors and believes strong communities are key to our city’s success.
Peggy’s municipal commitments build on her public service in Saskatoon and beyond, including federal leadership in economic development, heritage and equality, as head of government relations for the University of Saskatchewan, as a faculty member in public policy, and as co-founder of a science and innovation policy research centre. She also served in appointments to UNESCO, the University of Ottawa, as a Bencher with the Law Society of Saskatchewan and as a Member of the STM Corporation. Born and raised in Saskatoon, she lives with her family in Ward 8.
