Saskatoon’s sixth snow event declared to activate the 72-hour clean-up
March 4, 2022 - 10:32am
Approximately 15 centimetres of snow has accumulated in Saskatoon since early this morning. The snowfall is expected to end this evening allowing City crews to make significant headway on clean-up overnight.
City and contractor crews are grading priority streets to clear all driving lanes over the next 72 hours, starting with the highest priority streets including Circle Drive, expressways, arterials and routes to emergency facilities. City-managed sidewalks and pathways will be cleared within 48 hours.
Drivers are urged to adjust for winter conditions and leave extra room for stopping as intersections may be slippery due to fresh snow. Sidewalk users should use extra caution as well.
Crews have been working non-stop since early this morning plowing Circle Drive, grading the driving lanes of major streets, and applying sand for traction during the heavy snowfall.
Please keep back when you see blue and amber flashing lights to let road equipment complete their pass.
Additional information
Removal of snow piles on priority 2 and 3 streets will be on hold during this snow event clean-up work.
