Roadway crews continue to address icy streets and sidewalks
Ice created following snow and freezing drizzle over the weekend continues to create challenging driving, walking and cycling conditions across Saskatoon.
Since Sunday, sanders have been continuously applying salt on priority streets, like Circle Drive, and other high traffic streets, bridges and intersections that have the highest potential for serious collisions. Crews have also been applying salt and sand along bridge walkways and city-maintained sidewalks to improve traction for pedestrians and cyclists.
The City will continue to monitor and de-ice priority streets overnight and will address more residential streets and intersections tomorrow.
Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to use caution. If driving, adjust to the road conditions, leave extra room in front of you and watch for blue and yellow flashing lights on road maintenance equipment.
