Engage
What We Asked
The Fringe Festival has been hosted on or around Broadway Avenue since 1990. A parking permit area for the Fringe Festival has been in place every year since 2007, with parking area boundaries remaining mostly unchanged since that time. In 2023 we heard from community members that considerations for parking, including the parking area, should be reviewed to ensure they meet the needs of the surrounding community and residents. Therefore the City engaged with impacted community members on how we can improve parking during the Fringe Festival. Throughout our engagement we received feedback on:
- The Fringe Festival parking area boundaries
- Parking permits for businesses and residents
- Hours for parking restrictions
How You Can Get Involved
From August – September 2024, the City engaged with impacted community members, including residents, businesses and property owners, on a review of parking considerations for the Fringe Festival. Engagement feedback, along with internal City considerations, will be provided to City Council in December 2024.
Online Survey
An online survey was provided for residents and businesses near the Fringe Festival area to provide feedback on parking for the event. The survey is now closed. Thank you to those who provided their feedback!
