Tanya Napper
Public School Board Trustee Candidate Ward 1
A resident of Ward 1 for 20 years, an education professional and a parent of two in the public school system - each of these qualify me for the role of Public School Board Trustee in Ward 1.
My passion for education and for community are exampled in my volunteerism and profession: I have served 16 years on Elementary and Secondary School community Councils with the past 6 years being the public-school board co-chair; professionally, I have over 25 years’ experience in strategic planning, budgets, student engagement and governance; and, I have been an active member of my community association for 15 years with 5 of those as President.
No issue in education is simple. We have all been challenged with unprecedented and unexpected situations that have had a direct impact on students, teachers, administrators, and families. I welcome the opportunity to sit at the board table and advocate for improvements and voice the concerns, needs and celebrations of ward 1 schools.
