Project Status:
The Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre renovation is progressing on schedule, with Hipperson Construction advancing work in alignment with the approved project scope. As of now, 34% of construction is complete, and the project remains on track for substantial completion, with a full reopening planned for late Spring 2026.
Current Progress:
• Pool & Structural Work – Rehabilitation of the 50m pool basin and surrounding concrete is ongoing. Installation of new skimmers and pool piping is underway to enhance water circulation and filtration efficiency.
• Mechanical & Electrical Upgrades (Mechanical Room & Basement) – Replacement of underground piping and installation of new electro-mechanical equipment, including heat exchangers, are in progress to improve system performance and reliability.
• Building Envelope & Interior Enhancements – Structural and layout upgrades continue in the change rooms and administration areas. Work includes roof replacement, partial west wall cladding installation, and HVAC system replacement. Interior improvements are also advancing, with electrical rough-ins, plumbing

Upgrade & Facility Closure Project
Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre was built in 1975 and many of the components are nearing the end of their functional life.
The project is anticipated to include the following upgrades to the facility:
- Accessibility and inclusivity improvements to ensure the building and its features will be a welcoming space for the entire community.
- Upgrades to the 50-metre pool basin.
- Change room and washroom renovations to better serve customers and families.
- Water treatment and building mechanical system upgrades for improved efficiency.
- Flat roof upgrades including vapor barrier and insulation to increase energy efficiency and air quality.

Programming
The same programs and services will continue to be available at the other 5 Leisure Centres (Cosmo, Lakewood and Lawson Civic Centres, Saskatoon Field House and Shaw Centre) and where possible, programming opportunities have been expanded at the facilities.
