Mayor Cynthia Block has served Saskatoon in many capacities. After eight years as a City Councillor, she was elected Mayor in November 2024.

Mayor Block is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, a journalist, and a communications specialist.

A former CTV News anchor and owner of Block Communications, Mayor Block has built strong community relationships throughout her career. She has volunteered on numerous boards and committees, including YWCA, SK Brain Injury, and the Huskies.

As Mayor, she is committed to addressing homelessness, community safety and affordability and will continue to support strong basic infrastructure and services.

Working side-by-side as Treaty people, her vision for Saskatoon is a welcoming, inclusive, vibrant and future-ready city where all people thrive.
